Donald D. Dantzler Jr. is the Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at One City Schools. Professionally, Donald has worked in the areas of education, non-profits, evaluation, data analysis, and research for the past 15 years.
Also, Donald is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Educational Leadership & Policy. Donald’s research focuses on Black males in the P-20 pipeline and intervention mechanisms that foster academic success. Having an Economics background and strong quantitative research skills, he is passionate about solving real world problems using statistical techniques. Donald has taught at the undergraduate and graduate levels and has facilitated many programs and workshops to increase the persistence and success of students.
In addition to his academic and professional prowess, Donald serves on several Boards. He serves as the Vice Chair of the Madison Area Technical College District Board of Trustees and represents Madison College nationally on the board of the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT), Board Member of the 100 Black Men of Greater Madison, Inc., Board Member for the Wisconsin Technical College System District Board Association, and Board member for Junior Achievement of Wisconsin in the Southcentral Region. Furthermore, Donald previously served on the Program Committee for the Goodman Community Center and the Police and Fire Commission for the city of Fitchburg, WI. prior to being elected to the City Council in April of 2024. He is running for re-election to the Fitchburg City Council and running unopposed for the Dane County Board of Supervisors, District 33.
In 2025, Donald was selected as one of the 32 Most Influential Black Leaders in Wisconsin by Madison 365. In 2023, Donald was selected as a member of the InBusiness Magazine 40Under40. He also completed the Executive Leadership Program through the 100 Black Men of America, and was a member of the Spring 2024 Forward 48 Cohort.
Donald earned his Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in Education and Economics/Finance. He is a native of Joliet, IL.
